Gambling Server -- hosts the house slot machine. It needs the full chain before it will take a bet: POWER, then a NETWORK ADDRESS, then a NAS SHARE. Once all three are up, play it from any terminal with `slots` or from this device's own Inspector panel, on desktop and mobile alike.
620W typical against a 900W ceiling. This is the heaviest continuous draw in the roster and it is meant to hurt: a single one of these will eat most of a 1200W PDU on its own, and two of them on the same PDU will trip it. Size the supply BEFORE you rack it -- see man power.
It runs hot to match, at 0.045 heat per watt against a 78C safe ceiling, which is a lower ceiling than most servers. Cooling is close to mandatory rather than optional here; without it this device ages faster than anything else you own. Cooling modules STACK, so all three together remove 44C. See man cooling.
Requires a NAS share, and note the ordering. A NAS will only offer a share to a device that is powered, linked and holding an IP, so wire this device to a switch or router with DHCP FIRST. Until it has an address it will not appear in any NAS share list, which looks like the NAS refusing to co-operate rather than a missing network cable.
The machine pays LAB CREDITS and nothing else. It never costs and never pays Chips -- there is no real-money currency anywhere in this device.
The house edge is real and it is published. The paytable shows the exact odds of every symbol and the return-to-player percentage: 93.5%, so the house keeps about 6.5% of everything staked. Something pays on roughly 28% of spins. Over a long enough session this device takes more than it gives; contracts, hosting and mining all pay better. It is there for the thrill, not the income.
WILD substitutes for any symbol, three of a kind pays the headline multiples, and a pair of the higher symbols pays a small return. That is where most of the hit frequency comes from.
TWO jackpots. The hourly pool is yours alone: it starts fresh at the top of every hour, grows with what you wager during it, and caps at 25,000 credits. The GLOBAL jackpot is shared by every player in the game -- it starts at 100,000, grows with every wager anywhere, caps at 200,000, and when somebody takes it their name appears on every gambling server in the game and everyone is notified. Both jackpots roll with odds proportional to your stake, so a bigger bet is a better chance at either.
THE HOUSE LEDGER. Every spin is written down, and each record occupies one block of the NAS share backing this device. Read it with `slots ledger` or the panel's Read ledger button. A full share stops the machine taking bets rather than silently dropping records -- purge the ledger with `slots purge` or the panel button to free exactly the blocks this machine wrote, or give it a larger share.
Takes the Redundant PSU upgrade: it adds a second power input, PSU2. On a device drawing this much, wire PSU2 to a DIFFERENT PDU or UPS than PSU1 -- two feeds from the same PDU protect nothing. See man redundancy.
