Like every PDU tier, its outlets can reach past its own rack -- cross-rack cabling lets it feed a device racked in a second, physically separate rack, and that device behaves exactly like a locally-powered one everywhere it matters: thermal wear, overload/fire risk, disaster-recovery eligibility, and revenue tracking all apply identically.
Tip: cheapest way to get a second independent power domain going in a new rack section without touching your main chain's headroom.
