Still a shared chain: every outlet's load stacks against the same 250W ceiling and the same grid slot, so a heavy tier doesn't mean unlimited -- it just moves the wall further out.
The same sustained-overload fire hazard applies here too, and at this power level a runaway chain does real damage fast -- headroom matters more here, not less, because what's plugged in tends to be expensive. Worse, with up to 12 outlets actually in use, a real fire here risks spreading to EVERY device plugged directly into it, each with its own independent chance to also ignite -- the bigger the chain, the more there is to lose in one event.
Its 12 outlets aren't limited to feeding devices in its own rack -- cross-rack cabling lets this chain power devices racked in a second, physically separate rack over a real cable link. A device fed that way is treated exactly like a locally-powered one everywhere it matters: thermal wear, overload/fire risk, disaster-recovery eligibility, and revenue tracking all apply identically, no partial or second-class powered state for a cross-rack link.
Tip: this is usually the first upgrade worth making once you're running anything beyond routers/switches/basic servers -- budget for it before you buy the device that needs it, not after.
