2U 24 Port Switch
The 2U 24 Port Switch does the same job as the 8-port, with twenty-four jacks in two numbered rows.

When you need it
Once a rack holds more than a handful of machines, eight jacks run out. The 24-port saves rack space and keeps one network in one box.
What is different
- Twenty-four jacks in two rows of twelve.
- Twice as tall as the 8-port: 2U.
- It draws more power and runs more traffic, so it has four fan slots.
DHCP, name servers and your own domain work exactly as on the 8-port switch.
Upgrading from the 8-port
Open the 8-port's HARDWARE tab and press UPGRADE, or type upgrade <switch> go. A tech swaps it where it sits for 2 Chips, a $60 fee and the price of the unit. The first eight jacks are the old switch's jacks, so every cable stays in place, and the name and the settings are kept. The old switch goes to your shelf.
The slot above the switch must be empty first.
